Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a ravaging disease of the central nervous system caused by persistent mutant measles virus. The diagnosis SSPE based on characteristic clinical and EEG findings demonstration elevated antibody titres against in cerebrospinal fluid. may have atypical features at onset. Herein, we report an case adolescent with bilateral retinitis as initial presenting feature. progressed appearance cognitive worsening, myoclonic jerks, periodic high amplitude generalized complexes EEG, titers antibodies fluid leading to final SSPE. warrants degree suspicion ophthalmologist’s part clinch definitive not so common deadly disease.
